How does my child log into PowerSchool?
Students have their own login, separate from their parents.
Do I have to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal through a browser, or can I use an app?
You can do both! Logging in through the web browser lets you set up email notifications and run unofficial transcripts. You can also access the PS app (found in the Apple or Android app store). The app allows you to get push notifications for grade changes and absences. See the links on the right-hand side of this page.
I am following the directions, but I’m not getting the password reset email.
This usually means that we have an incorrect email address for you in our system or there is an issue with your account setup. Please call Student Services at 810-455-2830 so we can investigate.
When can I access the Parent Portal?
TEC parents and guardians have access to the Parent Portal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Do I need to log off the Parent Portal when I am finished?
When done with your session, click the “Sign Off” button in the upper right corner of the window, and then close your browser. This ensures no one can access your child’s private information.
Can parents/guardians have individual access to their student’s information?
Yes, parents/guardians can have separate accounts as long as they have email accounts in our system for each contact.
Can other people see my student’s information?
No. Only parents and guardians are issued access to the Parent Portal. As long as you protect your username and password, others cannot see your child’s information.
I want to grant access to others (grandparents, aunt/uncle) to view my student’s grades. Can I do that?
Within the web version of the Parent Portal, you can set email notifications for multiple email addresses. These email notifications send recipients requested information such as current grades, detailed reports of assignments and scores, and attendance.
Note: When adding multiple email addresses in the email notification section of the Parent Portal, make sure a comma and no trailing space separates them.
Can I print what I see?
Yes. Use the printer icon at the top right of most pages.
I am not getting emails from PowerSchool Parent Portal. Why?
There could be multiple reasons for this:
- Did you sign up for email notifications on the email notification page? Please double-check the email address you entered because the emails won’t go through if one character (letter/number/space) is off.
- Did you check your email’s SPAM folder? Check to see if the messages are going there. If they are, mark them as NOT SPAM. You will need to consult your email’s help menu or manual to learn how to do this, as it is different for every email program.
